Who will conduct our ceremony?
A marriage officer conducts the majority of our weddings. Each one is booked according to the religion, non-religious views formality/informality requested by the couple to be married. However, certain religions do require that the couple contact the Minister directly.
Can we write our own wedding vows?
The majority of marriage officers are happy for you to share personal vows.
Where will our wedding take place?
Your ceremony could take place in a chapel, garden, on a beach, in the bush, by a lake or wherever there are no local regulations against a ceremony taking place. Most marriage officers, though not all, stipulate that the Marriage Register be signed under cover in the presence of your witnesses.
If we use a professional videographer, will our DVD/Video need to be converted?
South Africa operates on the PAL system, however professional videographers are able to convert to NTSC if required.
What happens if I do not recieve my marriage certificate before I leave SA?
As the paperwork can only be processed after your wedding has taken place, it is possible that it will not be completed before you leave. We will either arrange to have it sent by courier to your honeymoon destination if in SA, or will arrange to have it sent to your home.
What colour and design will our flower arrangements be?
We suggest that you choose the colour and tell us the type of flowers you would like. We will see that they are matched as close as possible to flowers in season at the time of your wedding.
Do we have to opt for a traditional fruit cake for our wedding?
Not at all, we work closely with cake specialists who can make your cake in a variety of textures, flavors, etc. such as chocolate bar one, chocolate mouse, carrot cake, vanilla sponge, cheesecake etc. They will decorate your cake to match your wedding theme/colour.
How will you know our choice of colour/theme?
When you have booked your wedding, we will send you a questionaire, which asks you for information that we need to arrange your wedding.
When do we pay for our wedding?
The wedding venues and service providers will ask for a deposit to secure your booking. This tends to range from 10% and 50% depending on the service. The balance is usually paid 7 - 14 days prior to your wedding day.
